Lovecraft meets Steampunk! The completed sculpt of my steam-powered Cthulhu war machine. Ideally, this will be molded soon so I can make it available as a resin statue.

A Clockwork Cthulhu_Final Maquette by ~shaungent Lovecraft described the Cthulhu as being "...an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature....". This sculpture adds a stunning steampunk element to the dark entity. ( Suggested by ~Destroma and Featured by `LabyrinthCreations )

Wow, I'm speechless. What clay did you use to sculpt this? I always use Super Sculpey but that tends to get all smooshed in and its kinda hard to get in small details

Thanks. I used Super Sculpey. It does take a good amount of time to get used to but I have been working with it for over ten years now. Once you learn some of the tricks you can do pretty amazing things with this stuff. It seems a lot of folks use it for making conceptual maquettes for characters in the film industry.

Gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh! Outstanding! Two great tastes in one tasty sculpture!

What kind of materials did you use? Whenever I try to do something like this with "Sculpy" polymer clay, it all "sinks" down, and the details are ruined.
